Training Course on Designing, Negotiating and Implementing Free Trade Agreements

To train middle-level trade officials from selected Asian DMCs who are actively involved in FTA design, negotiation and implementation to espouse “best-practice” free trade agreements

To provide participants the necessary tools in undertaking free trade agreements in Asia such as

  • background concepts and trends
  • designing high quality FTAs
  • strategizing FTA negotiation and implementation

  • well-trained middle-level officials responsible for designing, negotiating and implementing FTAs per batch
  • knowledge network among participants to share experiences
  • summary of the training course
  • workshop kit containing presentations and references to disseminate the outputs of the training course

Participation is by invitation only; Middle-level trade officials from selected Asian DMCs who are actively involved in FTA design, negotiation and implementation with emphasis on the participation of CMLV countries.

A group of international experts on various issues on FTA and ADB staff will serve as resource persons.
