The Seminar on Implementation Challenges in Joint Customs Control, Risk Management and Post-Entry Audit was held on 7-9 February 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Seminar was co-sponsored by the Asian Development Bank and the Royal Thai Customs.

The Seminar focused on challenges in the implementation of joint customs control, risk management and post-entry audit, and how to address them. It also included Working Group discussions, and bilateral consultations to develop an action plan to advance the Program’s initiatives in these areas.

The Seminar brought together heads/deputy heads and senior officials of the customs administrations from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, People's Republic of China, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

    This seminar, held in Four Seasons Hotel, Bangkok, was the second regional event sponsored by the Royal Thai Customs for CAREC's Trade Facilitation Program.   The Azerbaijan delegation was represented by (L-R) Djavad Gasimov, Chief of the Customs Regimes Control Department of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan Republic; and Faig Seyidov, Chief of Audit Division, SCC.
         
     
    Mr. Chavalit Sethameteekul, Director General of the Royal Thai Customs, delivered the welcome address during the opening session of the seminar on 07 February 2007.   L-R: Dilshod Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Komil Nazarov, Head of the Currency Control Division, SCC; and Norov Unurtsetseg, ADB Consultant.
         
     
    The Mongolian delegation was represented by (L-R) Baagaa Battumur, Director General, Customs General Administration (CGA) of Mongolia; and Lamjav Delgerbayar, Senior Officer from Customs Policy and International Cooperation Division, CGA.   The Kazakhstan delegation was represented by (L-R) Mr. Renat Aitayev, Head of Analysis and Statistics Unit, Customs Control Committee (CCC), Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan; and Mr. Dauren Tulemisov, Head of the Organization of Customs Control Unit, CCC.
