Fourth Country Advisors' Meeting

South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) was launched in 2001, with ADB assistance, to support and facilitate the regional cooperation initiatives of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and Nepal in six priority sectors: transport; tourism; trade, investment, and private sector cooperation; energy and power; environment; and information and communications technology (ICT).
The Country Advisors Group, represented by the Finance Secretaries from the participating countries, is the steering and decision-making body of SASEC. They provide guidance and support on issues pertaining to the policies, priorities, and procedures of the SASEC program.
The Fourth Country Advisors' Meeting will:
- Review and assess the progress of the activities of the six Working Groups
- Discuss and endorse the investment projects in ICT, tourism, transport and trade facilitation
- Identify and address issues and lessons learned
- Discuss activities and future directions and strategies to move the SASEC program forward
- Discuss various issues to be proposed by the participating countries and ADB.
- Endorsed investment projects
- Agreements to enrich and advance subregional cooperation
- Tentative Schedule and agenda for 5th Country Advisor's Meeting.
- Senior officials from the Ministries of Finance of SASEC participating countries
- Senior officials from the line ministries who chair the six SASEC Working Groups.
