As lead country of the WG, Thailand presented the report of the 1^th IMT-GT WG on Tourism. The meeting discussed the progress of the Tourism programme, particularly its two components: (i) Tourism Development on travel facilitation involving the development of ports and international air linkages and the Master Plan for Tourism Development involving the assessment on areas of tourism potential with technical assistance from UN World Tourism Organization (WTO); (ii) Marketing and promotional activities which include the IMT-GT Logo and Theme, Directory/ Travel Guide Book on 3-star hotels, Website, activities for the Visit IMT-GT Year 2008, IMT-GT remaining budget at MITTA's, Travel Fairs, and Home Stay Network. It was noted that Thailand would organize the IMT-GT Tourism Ministerial Meeting planned to be held in Bangkok on 21 January 2008, in conjunction with the ASEAN Tourism Forum in 2008.
