- provide a platform for exchange among national and local governments, the private sector and civil society from urban areas in Asia, the ADB and the institutions of German and international cooperation,

At the conclusion of the conference, representatives of the German Government and ADB, together with other interested parties, will discuss and sign a Memorandum of Understanding setting out their intent to collaborate in this field and the form that this collaboration will take. This could include a joint project to contribute towards improving the living conditions of people in larger cities and urban areas by means of sustainable urban development. To that end, ADB and the BMZ support the establishment of an ACDI, , which will facilitate international dialogue, training and advice in order to build the problem-solving capacity of decision-makers from Asian cities and urban areas, to support them in preparing municipal infrastructure investment, and to assist in finding financiers.
