Transport is a key driver of economic development and growth. The sector provides facilities by which economic activity, health care, education and social development can be achieved more effectively through reduced travel times and costs, and improved access. At the same time however, transport's negative externalities present enormous challenges making it an urgent priority in the development agenda.
The Transport Forum will serve as a platform for exchanging information and experience on holistic approaches and solutions for sustainable transport development with particular focus on the following sub-themes:
- Urban Mobility
- Rural Transport
- Transport and Climate Change
- Governance
- Social Development and Inclusive Transport
- Road Safety
- Public-Private Partnerships
The main language of the Forum will be in English.
