Supported under the ADB Project Prevention and Control of Avian Influenza in Asia and the Pacific,the workshop is the fourth in a series of workshops to assess and share experiences in the implementation of the Regional Framework for the control and eradication of HPAI in ASEAN. Results of the previous workshops served as foundations for the development of a new Regional Strategy for the Progressive Control and Eradication of HPAI in ASEAN. This workshop will finalize and launch the updated ASEAN strategy on Avian Influenza.

- To initiate the implementation of the new ASEAN Regional Strategy for the Progressive Control and Eradication of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) 2008-2010, and engage all relevant stakeholders including the ASEAN Plus Three and East Asia Summit Participating Countries.
- To discuss expected outcomes and activities for implementing the new strategy, and define mechanisms to come up with the Roadmap for HPAI control in ASEAN.
- To elaborate on the implementation arrangements including definition of roles and partnerships, as well as establish commitments of each stakeholder.
