Regional Technical Workshop on Performance-Based Allocation (PBA)

Twenty eight officials from the finance ministries and central banks of selected ADF-Recipient Countries and staff from ADB's regional departments took part in two days of training and experience sharing on PBA of Asian Development Fund and International Development Association (World Bank) resources.

The workshop aimed to improve the awareness and understanding of PBA allocation among participating government officials from ADF-eligible countries.

At the end of the workshops, participants had:

• familiarized themselves with the enhancements of the ADB's PBA polcy
• understood the steps involved in determining country allocations under the ADF and IDA systems
• understood the linkage of the other elements associated with PBA: (country and institutional assessments; portfolio performance; country and special allocation, and grants, and resource and pipeline management)

• Completion report synthesizing workshop discussions to determine possible improvements/enhancements to the policy.
