The Third Multilateral Development Bank Technical Meeting on Performance-Based Allocation Methods

Purpose | Objectives

The third Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) Technical Meeting on Performance-Based Allocation (PBA) Methods was jointly hosted by the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. Representatives from eight multilateral institutions and some observers from bilateral donor agencies participated in the meeting.

The meeting proceedings centered around five main areas:

  • Performance Ratings Issues, e.g. reducing subjectivity, ratings disclosure experience
  • PBA System Simplification and Reducing Volatility
  • PBA in Postconflict and Fragile States
  • Allocation Issues, e.g. population factor, responsiveness-predictability trade-off, allocations disclosure experience
  • PBA Debt Relief Issues, e.g. inter-agency coordination and alignment
