Participants will gain a better understanding of:

  • How the present crisis has impacted investors, lenders, borrowers, and other players in the market,
  • Asia's position in the economic crisis compared with the rest of the world,
  • The implications of the liquidity shortage on the Asia region's long-term growth prospects, what projects are being financed, and by whom given the liquidity challenges,
  • What it will take for the trading environment to bounce back and how local banks and capital markets can be strengthened and access to local long-term debt financing can be enhanced,
  • China's role in the recovery (and beyond) given its increasing role as a growing regional player, and
  • The role of insurers and Multilateral Development Banks in promoting a sustainable recovery such as Public/Private Partnerships and new products offered by public sector institutions.

In addition, organizers, speakers and participants will be given the opportunity to network among key industry players and experts in the areas of project and trade finance, capital markets, and credit and political risk mitigation.
