The workshop will discuss the draft diagnostic study of the national statistical system of Maldives and the draft national strategy for the development of statistics in the country.

At the end of the workshop, participants will have:
- given their feedback and inputs to the draft report
- identified the desired inputs for setting the statistical priorities for development of statistical capacity of Maldives

- Feedback of the stakeholders in Maldives on the diagnosis of statistical system and priorities to be incorporated in the report
- Strengthened partnership with the Maldives Government in building statistical capacity of Maldives
- Advocacy for commitment from the Government for ownership of statistical capacity development and increased funding for the same

Participation is by invitation only:
Participating agencies of the Department of National Planning, representatives from different ministries/departments of Agriculture, Education, Health, Labor and Employment, Finance, Maldives Monetary Authority and other government agencies, International organizations, and others.
