This joint event follows on the June 2009 ADB-TERI High Level Dialogue in Manila, focusing on leveraging private sector financing for climate change action in Asia and the Pacific. ADB's ongoing work with the World Economic Forum on the same theme, and new initiatives for scaling-up investment in solar power across the region will also be featured.

Participants will have an opportunity to share experiences with current financing mechanisms available to private sector actors promoting climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.

The sessions will consist of short presentations followed by open discussion on how barriers to private sector investment in climate change solutions can be overcome or removed. Discussions will be focused on:
- Leveraging private sector and institutional investments to promote climate solutions ;
- Using private sector risk management and insurance schemes to respond to climate risks;
- Investing in Solutions for mitigation and adaptation vis-à-vis land-use, forestry and energy; and
- A special industry strategy session on scaling up solar initiatives in Asia and the Pacific.
