The Singapore International Water Week brings policymakers, industry leaders, experts, and practitioners together to address challenges, showcase technologies, discover opportunities, and celebrate achievements in the water world. Water Week features an annual Water Leaders Summit, Water Convention, and Water Expo, and culminates in the presentation of the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize, an international award that recognizes outstanding contributions in solving water issues.

ADB supported the inaugural Water Week in 2008 to stimulate water investments, reforms, capacity development, and knowledge sharing under its Water Financing Program 2006-2010. More than 8,500 delegates and trade visitors from 79 countries gathered at the Water Week 2008, with foreign participants making up 70 percent of the total attendance.

Water Week 2009’s theme is Sustainable Cities – Infrastructure and Technologies for Water. ADB supports this year’s Water Week and is co-organizing the Southeast Asia Business Forum. ADB will also contribute significantly to the session on “Water Policy Dialogue:  Water Governance,” organized by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. Members of an ADB delegation will also participate in a number of sessions and events as speakers and presenters.
