Indonesia: Country Gender Assessment Workshop
Background & RationaleThe Asian Development Bank (ADB), in cooperation with The Asia Foundation, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the World Bank, has prepared a country gender assessment (CGA) for Indonesia. The CGA provided an overview of gender issues and identified strategies to reduce gender gaps and improve women's empowerment. Results to DateThe event was hosted by the State Ministry of Women's Empowerment on 13 September 2005. The participants included representatives of bilateral and multilateral donor agencies, government sector ministries and agencies including the Ministry of Finance and the National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS), as well as representatives of local governments and nongovernment organizations. The CGA was well received by the participants. |
