Draft Guidelines on Monitoring and Evaluation of Resettlement
Request for Public Comments

ADB's Involuntary Resettlement Policy requires the preparation of resettlement plans for projects that engender resettlement. Good resettlement management and effective supervision will contribute to a successful implementation of these resettlement plans. Through careful monitoring and evaluation, problems and constraints in resettlement implementation are identified early. This will enable the executing (EA) or implementing agency (IA) or both to make necessary adjustments and adopt appropriate corrective measures during project implementation.

These Guidelines [ PDF: 462 kb | 63 pages ] were drafted to assist the EAs, IAs and external monitors on the conduct of monitoring and evaluation of resettlement implementation.

ADB welcomes comments on the draft Guidelines prior to publication. Please email or post your comments on or before 31 May 2003.
