The impact of the Project will be a general education system responsive to the needs of a modern market-oriented economy and focused on poorer areas. The outcomes of the Project are increased enrollment in primary and general secondary education in poorer areas of the country and student performance raised.

The Summary Poverty Reduction And Social Strategy indicates that provisions have been made for Uzbek and Tajik ethnic minorities. The Project will enhance access and equity for ethnic minorities by providing, in addition to textbook and learning materials in Kyrgyz and Russian, textbooks and learning materials in Uzbek and Tajik.

Location:
The Project will benefit selected priority schools, most of which are in rural communities. (Project Map)
