Scope

Livelihood development and participatory poverty reduction approaches in 10 selected villages. Livelihood activities under JFPR project includes: sea farming, fish hatchery, cage culture, fish processing and land based activities.

Objectives

Grant Development Objective (GDO)

Raise the income levels of the poorest of poor and women groups in selected coastal and small islands communities.

Project Purpose

Initiate and facilitate the development and implementation of sustainable livelihood activities; and expand livelihood development to all possible areas covered under the counterpart project.

Expected Output

  • Increase of per capita income by 30% in real terms in target coastal communities
  • Improvement of living standards for at least 1,000 very poor households
  • At least 50% of the beneficiaries should comprise of women
  • Implementation of various types of livelihood activities in 10 villages
  • Capital build up for livelihood development and implementation in target villages
