Scope

The project will target the poor and low-income groups in selected Ger housing areas of the three cities covered under part B of Loan 1847-MON: Housing Finance Sector Loan, and eight aimag centers in eastern and central Mongolia under the Integrated Urban Services for Secondary Towns Loan. The cities are Baruun-Urt, Choibalsan, Choir, Dalanzadgad, Darkhan, Mandalgovi, Ondorkhaan, Sainshand, Tsetserleg, Ulaanbaatar, and Zuunmod.

Objectives

Overall Objective

Pilot innovative and sustainable approaches to address housing-related poverty in selected Ger areas of Mongolia.

Project Purpose

  • Pilot sustainable opportunities for housing finance to the poor.
  • Show viable approaches for running public bath houses in Ger areas with poverty targeting.
  • Use community assets to reduce the costs of housing for the poor.
