Project Summary

This TA provides for capacity building support to Pakistan through a Resident Mission poverty consultant. It will especially focus on monitoring the implementation of the poverty reduction strategy paper (PRSP) and provincial-level plans as well as reviewing and helping develop new programs on poverty reduction. This would also help the Pakistan Resident Mission serve as a knowledge node on poverty in the country.

The goal is to expand and improve analytical and policy dialogue work on poverty in Pakistan, and enhance the poverty focus and development interventions.

The purposes are:

  • Strengthen the capacity of the PRSP Secretariat for improved poverty analysis and research
  • Monitoring and evaluation of PRSP implementation
  • Undertaking policy dialogue on relevant issues
  • Providing project support for greater impact on poverty reduction.
