Project Summary

The TA will develop a subregional natural resource management strategy for the upland areas of the GMS.

The TA will undertake the following:

  1. desk review and analysis, based on secondary sources, of policies that have had impacts on the livelihoods of poor communities inhabiting the Central Region in Viet Nam and Northern Lao PDR
  2. identification of gaps in existing policy and institutional capacity to strike an equitable balance between traditional land and forest use and management by ethnic minorities, and need for sustainable poverty reduction and sustainable natural resource management
  3. recommendations for policy reforms and advocacy, future projects and further sector work
