This volume presents an assessment of the insolvency law regimes of ten Asian economies. It also includes the report on The Need for an Integrated Approach to Secured Transaction and Insolvency Law Reforms. This report derives from a unique seminar session that explored the interrelationships between the legal regimes for secured transactions and insolvency law. The outcome was a delineation of the potentially supporting but also conflicting issues underlying both legal regimes, and the importance of an integrated approach to reforming both of these areas of law.
This report will be particularly useful for policymakers in developing member countries seeking to create greater harmony between these potentially conflicting areas of law.
