Non-Tariff Barriers to Trade

The GATT also deals with non-tariff barriers to trade (*). Indeed, there are many means that may be used, other than tariffs, to create obstacles to international trade. Initially, the GATT addresses some forms of barriers to trade:

• Quantitative restrictions
• Customs administration
• Standards and technical regulations
