Schedule of specific commitments

Each Member's Schedule states its specific commitments. The main part of the Schedule takes the form of line items, arranged in four columns, specifying in each case:

  • the sectors or sub-sector
  • any terms, limitations and conditions on market access
  • any conditions and qualifications on national treatment
  • any undertakings relating to additional commitments

Each entry may also include information on the timeframe for implementation, and the date of entry into force. In many cases, the derogations from market access or national treatment distinguish between the four modes of supply; if there is no commitment for a particular mode, it is marked "unbound".

The sectoral part of the Schedule is preceded by 'horizontal commitments', i.e. ones affecting a number of sectors. Many of these concern derogations from market access or NT commitments as regards particular modes of supply, such as that of the presence of natural persons.
