Considering that data and information on poverty is still being collated and that the policies and strategies for poverty reduction have only recently been developed in Cambodia, it will be important to use appropriate information in the design of anti-poverty focused programs and establish consistency in policies and strategies across key economic and social sectors. Further, is these poverty reduction efforts gather momentum, it will require close coordination among development partners. To support these activities, there is the need for a Poverty Consultant at CARM. Such support will include, among others, compilation of appropriate databases and other information on poverty design of stand alone poverty reduction TA projects including those financed through appropriate poverty reduction funds such as the JFPR, formulation of poverty reduction focused components as part of ADB-financed loan projects, facilitate coordination among development partners with active involvement in poverty reduction programs, and track the implementation of Second Five-Year Socioeconomic Development Plan, 2001-2005 II and the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper.
