Project Summary

The TA is a package of capacity building services for the nine poor rural ethnic minority communities in Viengphukha District to be socially prepared with secure land tenure and basic health and education and able to manage their natural resources and respond to the opportunities and challenges brought about by the improvements along National Route 3 in Lao PDR. Investment projects financed by the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction will follow the social preparation process facilitated by this TA.

The Project consists of the following activities:

  • social preparation
  • land capability assessment, land use planning and allocation
  • natural resource management
  • capacity building for the local government
  • dissemination of lessons learned
