TA 4353: Promoting Pro-poor and Gender Responsive Service Delivery Project - Nepal

Project Summary

This technical assistance shall strengthen the demand side of governance by building the capacity of women and community-based organization (CBOs), and assisting local governance structures to adopt approaches to policy planning and budgeting that are inclusive of gender and social equity goals.

Action-learning methodologies that link to their practical application are proposed for increasing the poor's participation by giving CBOs an opportunity to manage funds, determine beneficiaries and monitor outcomes. It will expose beneficiaries to the elements of good governance, transparency, representation and information, and how these strengthen the demand side of governance.

Key activities include:

  • CBO capability improvement through action learning
  • Building women development section capacity for intersectoral cooperation
  • Capacity building of potential women leaders, local bodies and line agencies
  • Project management services.
