TA 4015: Enhancing Capacity for Resource Management and Poverty Reduction in Punjab - Pakistan

Project Summary

The TA will promote the development of poverty reduction strategy in Punjab and the effective use of public resources for poverty reduction. The TA will also assist in developing needed systems for poverty reduction.

More specifically, the TA will assist Punjab Government in:

  • developing a medium-term poverty reduction strategy, along with specific targets and key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • developing and implementing a poverty-focused medium-term fiscal restructuring plan and a program for improving financial management.
  • analyze the link between rural poverty and prevailing social structures and access to social services;
  • developing modalities and instruments for meeting I-PRSP goals in the changed environment where responsibility for social service delivery has been devolved to local governments, and in improving the management of its human resources.

The findings and recommendations will help guide and inform future Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper Updates.
