Project Description

The goal of the TA is to develop a poverty reduction strategy that will address the emerging challenges in the PRC over the next two decades. The purpose of the TA is to assist the Government in conducting a policy study that will provide the framework for the policy and institutional directions of the PRC's poverty reduction strategy for the next two decades.

The outputs of the TA are an analytical study and the presentation of the findings of the policy paper in the World Bank-sponsored international conference on poverty reduction that will be held in Shanghai in May 2004. The study will comprise an integrated paper and six poverty focused reports.
