Project Summary

The TA involves pilot-testing of provision of services to people affected by psychosocial health problems. More specifically, this will develop and pilot-test an approach that will help mentally-ill people, their families and communities by providing services like counselling, awareness creation, medical service, training of staff and institutional development. Service delivery will rely wherever possible on NGOs.

The activities of the TA are:

  • Background and baseline study of psychosocial health problems in the context of poverty in Sri Lanka
  • Pilot program that may include elements such as training of professionals and institutional development
  • Documentation and identification of lessons learned
  • Advocacy and partnership development
