Project Summary

This TA supports the Government of Viet Nam in the preparation of guidelines for benefit-sharing mechanisms for peoples adversely affected by power generation projects that can be implemented on a pilot basis. This will help the Government prepare a pilot-tested policy framework, as an initial step in developing a national policy for benefits-sharing mechanism for improving the well-being of the people affected and the long-term environmental management of power projects. The mechanisms will allow the allocation of a certain percentage of revenue from power generation projects. These will mitigate the long-term adverse social impacts of such projects and will help the project-affected people improve their livelihoods in a sustainable manner
