TA 4453: Supporting the Preparation of Law on Gender Equality - Viet Nam

Project Summary

This TA extends support to the Government in the development of a law on gender equality with a view to reducing poverty and inequality based on gender; facilitate the process of gender mainstreaming in drafting and amending legislation; build gender-sensitive legal institutions; enhance gender awareness in the legal system.

More specifically, this TA will do the following:

• conduct a diagnostic analysis on the latest documents and reports on gender equality in legal systems
• draft the law on gender equality, as well as recommend amendments to other relevant laws and regulations
• conduct awareness raising and public advocacy for major stakeholder groups before and after the law on gender equality is proclaimed.
