Few Pacific islanders would say they are poor. But throughout the region, a very real form of poverty exists: poverty of opportunity. The Asian Development Bank works with its 13 Pacific developing member countries to fight the lack of opportunity that remoteness and smallness bring to many of the region’s 8 million people, depriving them of adequate employment, education, and health care.
