Philippine President Arroyo Addresses Closing of High-level Climate Change Dialogue at ADB

Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo addressed the High-Level Dialogue on Climate Change in Asia and the Pacific at ADB on 17 June. She thanked ADB and The Energy and Resources Institute for holding a conference that has helped frame the priorities for Asia and the Pacific in the lead up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December.

PGMA Hosts Malacanang Lunch for Filipino ADB Professional Staff

Philippines President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on 21 May hosted lunch at the Malacañang Palace for Filipino Professional Staff and selected Board members and staff, organized by Executive Director Marita Magpili-Jimenez. President Arroyo discussed a wide range of issues with staff who praised her strong support for the ADB-Philippines Development Partnership.

ARCP 2 Launched in Davao: DAR, ADB Seal New Partnership for P8.6-B Rural Development Project

DAR Secretary Nasser C. Pangandaman (seated, 2nd from right) and ADB Project Implementation Head Ki Hee Ryu (seated, extreme right) sign the Memorandum of Agreement at Marco Polo Hotel in Davao City as they renew their partnership for the funding and implementation of the second phase of the Agrarian Reform Community Project (ARCP2). This project hopes to reduce poverty in 152 ARC from Southern Philippines by providing rural infrastructure and livelihood projects among agrarian reform beneficiaries and their communities.

P8.6-B Set for Phase 2 of DAR, ADB Program*

Davao City - A P8.6 billion worth of infrastructure project will be implemented by the Department of Agrarian Reform Community Project Phase 2 (ARCP 2) with funding source from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
