ADB Executive Directors Visit ADB's Projects in Eastern Samar

Executive Directors Marita Magpili-Jimenez and Curtis Chin (third and fifth from right), Philippine and US representatives to the ADB Board of Directors respectively, visited farm-to-market roads in Eastern Samar being built under the INFRES (Infrastructure for Rural Productivity Enhancement Sector) project as part of their consultation visits. ADB Keynotes Bohol Poverty Reduction and Development Initiatives Fair

Neeraj Jain, ADB Philippine Country Director, gives the keynote speech at the annual Bohol Poverty Reduction and Development Initiatives Fair in Bohol which showcases project proposals from the different municipalities for poverty reduction and livelihood projects. News Release: ADB Helping Prepare Urban Water Supply Project for Philippines

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is helping prepare a project that will improve water supply and sanitation services for urban areas outside Metro Manila, the main urban center of the Philippines. Read the News Release.

ADB Managing Director General Addresses Management Association of the Philippines

Managing Director General Rajat M. Nag discussed the challenges facing Asia and role of the private sector as an engine of regional economic growth at the 7th MAP International CEO Conference in Makati. It was attended by 800 CEOs, management practitioners, and academics from the Philippines and the region. Mr Nag and Philippine Country Director Neeraj Jain were also interviewed by the media after the speech.

Philippines Receives $250 Million ADB Loan to Strengthen Fiscal and Governance Reforms

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is extending a $250 million loan to strengthen the policy reform initiatives of the Philippine government for fiscal management, investment climate and social sectors. Read the News Release.

ADB Raises Inflation Projections, Trims Growth Forecasts for Philippines

Tom Crouch, Deputy Director General, ADB Southeast Asia Department (left); and Neeraj Jain, ADB Philippine Country Director (right) hold a press conference on the economic prospects of the Philippine economy. The Asian Development Bank downgraded its economic growth forecasts and raised its inflation projections for the Philippines in 2008 and 2009. Read the News Release. Environment Secretary Atienza inaugurates ADB-funded Pasig River resettlement site

Environment Secretary Joselito Atienza led the inauguration of four seven-storey medium rise buildings and a three-storey schoolbuilding in Barangay Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila near Pasig River to resettle 728 families who were informal settlers in the area. The P316 million project was implemented by the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission under the ADB-funded Pasig River Environmental Management and Rehabilitation Sector Development Program.
