Promoting Good Governance: ADB's Medium-Term Agenda and Action Plan (2000)

ADB’s original policy on governance became the basic building block for a cluster of policies on governance. Among them were policies on procurement, law and policy reform, participation of civil society, and anticorruption. Good governance has since been established as one of the three pillars of ADB’s Poverty Reduction Strategy.

The Medium-Term Agenda and Action Plan takes stock of ADB’s governance activities since 1995 and the impact they achieved. It

  • reviews the evolution of ADB’s governance policy
  • analyzes the successes achieved and lessons learned
  • proposes a medium-term agenda and action plan
