ADB's Inspection Policy provides a formal channel through which local groups in its borrowing member countries can raise concerns about ADB's involvement in certain development projects.

It is designed to complement other efforts to improve the quality and transparency of ADB's operations, as well as its accountability.

It was approved by ADB's Board of Directors in December 1995 and became effective in October 1996.

The online edition is free of charge.
