I. Introduction

1. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has updated the sector and thematic classification of operational projects (supported by loans, equity, guarantees, and grants). Effective 1 July 2004, Board and other official documents will reflect the updated sector and thematic classification. This paper briefly describes the updated sector and thematic classification.
