- Objectives and Scope

The objective of the technical assistance is to assist the Government to review and strengthen the feasibility study, the environmental impact assessment, and the resettlement plan to satisfy the requirements for ADB financing of the proposed project. The scope of the technical assistance will cover railway engineering including alignment review, intermodal traffic analysis, economic, financial and socio-economic analysis including poverty reduction impact, review of resettlement arrangements and the environmental impact assessment. Local survey for resettlement and socio-economic sampling will also be undertaken. The project envisages the construction of a 456 km Class I high speed double track electrified railway between Xi'an (Shaanxi Province) to Zhengzhou (Henan Province). Total project cost is about $4.0 billion.
