    Description
It is estimated that up to 70% of SMEs in the Kyrgyz Republic are operating at a loss. This is to a large extent due to the lack of information and skills for developing business plans, maintaining reliable records and accounts, and expanding business operations. This in turn further limits SME access to finance. While some business development services (BDS) initiatives have been implemented successfully with donor support, only a small subset of SMEs currently used these services. There is therefore a need for more comprehensive and sustainable approach for enhaning the availability and outreach of, and demand for BDS for SMEs.
