The Regional Cooperation Strategy and Program (RCSP) Update (2006-2008) for the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) provides an overview of major social, political, and economic developments affecting the Subregion since the RCSP was approved in March 2004, and their implications on the GMS Program.

Key achievements of the GMS Program, including the holding of the Second GMS Summit of Leaders in Kunming in July 2005, are summarized in the Update.

An indicative pipeline of loan projects and nonlending products and services for 2006-2008 to support the RCSP's strategic thrusts of greater connectivity, improved competitiveness, and increased sense of community among the GMS countries is presented.

The Update also includes an indicative results framework for the RCSP, which establishes the relationship between the RCSP's strategic priorities and the socioeconomic development goals of the GMS countries.
