Mongolia’s Urban Development and Housing Sector Strategy
Technical Assistance Project NO. 4352-MON

The Government of Mongolia (GOM) requested the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for technical assistance (TA) [ PDF ] to help develop a strategy to guide the Government’s and the ADB’s future cooperation and joint programs in the urban development and housing sector. This TA was included in the Mongolia Country Strategy and Program Update for 2004-2006.

The principle outputs include:

• Updated basic information in urban development and housing
• An urban development and housing sector strategy for ADB for 2005-2008
• Outline of proposals of priority investments and institutional capacity development requirements

ADB has funded a series of activities in the housing and urban development sector through loan and grant projects. There are three active projects

• Housing Finance Sector Project
• Integrated Development of Basic Urban Services in Provincial Towns
• Capacity Building for Cadastral Survey and Land Registration
