Annual Report on the Japan Special Fund for 1997

The Japan Special Fund (JSF), made available on an untied grant basis by the Government of Japan, was established on 10 March 1988. Its main objective is to provide financial support for financing the Bank’s technical assistance (TA) program. It aims to help the Bank’s developing members restructure their economies in light of the changing global environment, broaden the scope of opportunities for new investment, and prepare loan projects, thereby facilitating the recycling of funds to members. To this end, the Government of Japan has appointed the Bank as the Administrator of the JSF.
