PRC: Hebei Zhanghewan Pumped Storage Project
Resettlement Action Plan
The Hebei Zhanghewan Pumped Storage Project will provide 1,000 MW Zhanghewan Pumped Storage Power Plant with one 63 kilometer 500 kV transmission line connecting the plant to the grid. The Project is envisaged to address the power shortage in the Hebei south power grid. When designing the Project, ADB partner Executing Agency, Hebei Electric Power Company (HEP) explored options to minimize the land acquisition and house demolition. Nevertheless, the Project will still require permanent acquisition of 576 hectares and the temporary use of 86 hectares of land and affect approximately 3,254 people.
In order to address the land acquisition and resettlement impacts of the project, HEP prepared this plan based on preliminary technical design of the Project.
