PRC: Xi'an Urban Transport Project
Resettlement Plan
The proposed project involves construction of a 71-km ring road around the Xian City and 3 inter-connectors 16 km in length between the Second and the Third Ring Road. The project covers three administrative districts—Yanta, Weiyang, and Baqiao. Based on latest redline impact data and field surveys conducted, the Xi’an Third Ring Road Construction and Development Co. Ltd (TRCDC) estimated that:
- 3,934 rural households would be affected by land acquisition
- 2,736 rural households would be affected by building/house relocation.
Among these two categories, 540 households would be affected by
both land acquisition and building/house relocation. Therefore the
total number of affected households would be 6,130 or 23,957 persons;
and 151 enterprises/business units/social organizations with 5,087
employees (urban and rural). This means that a total of 29,044 persons
would be affected by the project construction, including 151 enterprises/business
units.
