SRI: Conflict-Affected Areas Rehabilitation Project
Resettlement Framework

The proposed Conflict-Affected Areas Rehabilitation Project in Sri Lanka consists of

  • rehabilitation of about 500 kilometers (km) of national roads
  • rehabilitation of the 75 km power transmission line and rural electrification
  • community restoration and development including reconstruction of school buildings, water supply, sanitation, irrigation schemes, community access roads, and livelihood restoration.

As part of the selection criteria, ADB's executing agencies will avoid subprojects that may entail significant involuntary resettlement impacts. During project implementation, resettlement plans for subprojects with minor involuntary resettlement impacts will be prepared based on the principles and procedures set out in this resettlement framework [ PDF ].
