Cooperation with Nongovernment Organizations

This presentation lists nongovernment organization (NGO) definitions and typologies, as well as an analysis of their strengths and weaknesses. Its also explains ADB's experience with NGOs (1987-1998) and gives examples of ADB projects with NGO involvement during the same period. It describes succinctly ADB's 1998 policy paper for cooperation between ADB and NGOs, lists the new areas identified for NGO involvement, explains post-1998 achievements, and points to near-term directions.
