PRC: Private Sector Assessment

Presentation by Ms. Shamshad Akhtar, Director, Governance, Finance and Trade Division (ECGF), and Ms. Debra Kertzman, Financial Sector Specialist, ECGF, East and Central Asia Department, Asian Development Bank, during the Workshop on Private Sector Development in the People's Republic of China, held on 25 March 2003 in Beijing.

This presentation discusses the findings of ADB's Private Sector Assessment Study (PSA). It provides the rationale for the PSA, describes the composition and contribution of the private sector in PRC, identifies constraints to private sector development, and offers recommendations to support development of the private sector in PRC.
