Title: Project Assistant
Department/Division: Tajikistan Resident Mission (TJRM)

1. JOB PURPOSE:

To provide necessary support in administrative, statistical, and accounting aspects of portfolio management and country programming.

2. EXPECTED OUTCOMES:

Assists in project administration and portfolio management including following up on outstanding actions with executing agencies (EA) to expedite procurements.

Assists EAs in following ADB’s procurement and consultant recruitment procedures, reviewing procurement documents submitted by EAs, monitoring contract awards and disbursement performances and taking follow-up action to ensure that all targets are met. Assists in updating Project Performance Reports (PPR) and Technical Assistance Performance Reports (TPRs) for assigned projects.

Supports the work of the country programming by providing necessary data and coordinating with the Headquarters, the Government and development partners.

Ensures that all project files are properly maintained and updated.

Updates various reports and translates letters/reports into Russian/English.

Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

3. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree

4. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level.

At least 3 years of relevant work experience.

Good command of written and spoken English.

Good computer skills with sound knowledge of common word-processing, spreadsheets and graphics software used in ADB.

Good understanding of the role and function of the office and a good general understanding of the organization’s purpose.

Ability to work with individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds; good interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work with minimum supervision, and maintain composure under pressure.

Familiarity with local languages and institutions.
