1. IMMEDIATE REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

2. JOB PURPOSE:
Support the identification, development, implementation and administration of private sector infrastructure financing projects to contribute to ADB’s developmental directions for the private sector and the overall goal of reducing poverty. Provide inputs for the development of policy, strategies and of country programs. Work with broad policies and objectives, working directly with clients, with supervision for critical tasks.

3. EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
- Strategy and Planning
- Provide information and analyses for the development of policy and strategies for ADB’s developmental goals for the private sector in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in country teams and missions for planning and programming purposes with particular focus on private sector development and operations and for the identification of investment opportunities in assigned developing member countries (DMCs).
- Assist in developing a pipeline of private sector infrastructure projects.
- Project Management
- Support the identification, development and processing of projects to be considered for private sector infrastructure financing, undertaking the needed due diligence, risk analysis and mitigation work towards the structuring of loans, equity investment, guarantees or other forms of assistance.
- Undertake the implementation and administration of private sector infrastructure programs and projects, ensuring compliance with required guidelines, policies and procedures as well as agreed covenants and reporting requirements.
- Raise key issues and apply proper risk management in projects.
- Perform the role of a director on the board of ADB’s investee companies representing ADB’s interest in accordance with the principles of sound corporate governance, as assigned.
- External Liaison
- Facilitate active relationships with financial intermediaries in the region.
- Policy and Project Evaluation
- Draft as well as provide comments on project, policy and other papers related to private sector development and operations issues in various themes and sectors.
- Maintain and share knowledge of emerging best practices in area of expertise.
- Staff Supervision
- Provide leadership and support to reporting staff.
- Supervise the performance of reporting staff, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance.
- Ensure the on-going learning and development of reporting staff.

6. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A university degree in business administration, finance, or related fields; preferably at post-graduate degree or its equivalent in business administration from a leading graduate school of business

7. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in private and finance sector, including hands-on experience in processing loans for infrastructure projects, analyzing credit risks, equity valuation, structuring loan transactions and equity investments, syndicating term loans and related banking activities
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
- International experience working in development in several countries

8. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

in US dollars. Salaries and benefits are generally free of tax except
for citizens of some countries, primarily the USA and the Philippines,
whose incomes are taxed by their respective governments. While the position
advertised is for the ADB Headquarters in Manila, Philippines, ADB staff
must be prepared to serve in any location outside its Headquarters at
