Young Professionals Program (YPP)
Updated January 2008

The selection process for the 2008 YP intake is on-going. Only shortlisted candidates are contacted.

Want to grow professionally by building on your training and experience? Want to help improve the lives of people in Asia and the Pacific?

ADB's Young Professionals (YP) Program recruits highly qualified and motivated individuals to ADB. The program lays the foundation for a challenging and rewarding professional career in an international development environment. It offers a range of opportunities to acquire professional skills and understanding of ADB’s operations, policies and procedures.

Work Assignments. YPs are offered a 2-year fixed term appointment. During this period, they are expected to demonstrate competencies required for the positions. The work assignments enable them to hone their expertise and broaden their perspective of various facets of ADB work.

Learning and Career Development Opportunities

Travel. YPs are encouraged to participate in missions. These missions can be any of the following nature: fact-finding and appraisal, project review and completion, country programming, sector and policy studies, or disbursement.

Internal Learning Programs. YPs initially set up a developmental plan under the guidance of their supervisors and human resources teams. In this plan, they identify learning programs offered in ADB, which will enable them to improve their technical skills and acquaint them with ADB policies and procedures.
